My guitar building story starts with an accidental discovery that master-built guitars exist, and of course at first I just wanted to order one. But obviously, it was 2010 and I was still a student in the architecture school and couldn’t afford it. After a bit more research I discovered a section of a local music forum dedicated to guitar building. I remember scrolling through it every evening and thinking that thanks to those step-by-step build reports I can try and make one myself. I found some drawings, a fret calculator and started re-drawing everything just to get a better idea of what I’m about to make. Being a student of architecture I had CAD experience and decent 3D-thinking which helped a lot. | ![]() |
Sorry for the picture quality. It was still a Nokia age for me 😆
I started to build in a garage which wasn’t ideal by any standards, but at that point I just needed to practice the woodworking.
Eventually I found a better place to work in and things went much smoother.
The kitty was quality checking every step.

I finally started painting - something I was dreading this whole time. As it turned out, not without reason. The process took 6 months and multiple resprays
But in the end it came out exactly as I wanted and the kitty was proud of me :)
